Welcome from Lesley Beck, CEO of Insight MAT

As a teacher of 30 years, of which 20 as a senior leader, I have spent almost my entire professional life working on behalf of, and alongside, children. There is no other job like it; to help young people grow and learn and make sense of the world they’ll inhabit as adults is a privilege beyond compare. The responsibility which comes with this is a weighty one; to make decisions on a daily, monthly, yearly basis which will directly or indirectly impact each and every child in school is a task not to be taken lightly, but I have the privilege of working alongside a vast array of talented, determined and committed adults who, alongside me, put children and young people at the heart of every decision made.

These four words sit at the heart of everything we do. Our ambition for our children and the staff who support them knows no bounds. Cooperation and collaboration all aimed at helping young people succeed, and ensuring they have the support, guidance and skilled input they need is our ultimate goal. We build strong and effective relationships with our parents and carers, keeping them up to date with the progress of their children as well as the work of the schools they attend. Our colleagues in our schools are skilled, focused and highly committed to their work; we invest in their ongoing development and wellbeing; happy colleagues will always go above and beyond for the young people in their care.

It is a privilege to work at the centre of this Trust. Every day is an exciting opportunity to face the challenges of educating young people in these often-turbulent times.
