Hillary Carroll

Chair of S&S

After a career of over 30 years in Human Resources (HR) within the private sector, including time with Lloydspharmacy, Central England Co-op and Monsoon, I retired in 2013 to seek out challenges that would continue to use the broad range of skills that I had gained over this time. I was delighted to be asked to bring these skills to the Insight MAT in 2017 in the important role of a MAT Trustee.

I am passionate about creating environments where people can thrive and give of their best, this is key to the success of students and staff alike in the MAT. During my career in HR, I have led businesses through significant periods of change, developed programmes to embed new ways of working and cultures, and spent a great deal of time attracting and recruiting to key positions.  My roles also saw me delivering programmes as part of employee development, leading the employee relations functions and establishing employment policies and procedures.

As well as my part in the MAT, I am involved in the local community as a Magistrate, having experience in both the criminal and family courts’ systems.  My husband and I are keen travellers, I enjoy trying to keep fit, watching a variety of sport and I can be seen swinging golf clubs occasionally.
